We are in the business of building Black leaders.
Black Boys Code is an educational organization leading the Black youth technology education movement across Canada. Since our inception, Black Boys Code has taught nearly 8,500 unique K-12 youth to write software, while mentoring them to follow an educational path that will lead them to university, a technology career, or entrepreneurship in computer science.
Our K-12 curriculum includes teaching kids to build mobile apps, websites, and video games, as well as building and programming robots and drones.
We believe that education is the key to a future of Black youth who are inspired and empowered to reach their full potential. We devote our resources — our curriculum, services, time, and skills — to equip them with the tools and knowledge they need to fulfill their destiny as leaders and

Job description
Black Boys Code is experiencing explosive growth across Canada and USA.
To support this growth, we are in search of a Data/ Impact Analyst who share our values and are excited by the idea of working for a fast growing, mission-driven organization. You will have “a unique opportunity to work across all verticals as a knowledge broker, acting as an intermediary between all stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee and manage the process of cleaning up historical data, ensuring its accuracy, consistency, and completeness across the organization’s databases.
- Identify, resolve, and prevent data discrepancies, duplicates, and gaps in historical records to maintain high-quality data for analysis.
- Lead the rollout of the Student Information Management System, ensuring the system is aligned with the organization’s data requirements.
- Set up and manage the mapping of key data fields, ensuring seamless integration of student information with the system.
- Manage the delivery of user satisfaction surveys and report on results using data visualization software
- Work with program managers and operations manager to develop requirements, define success metrics, manage, and execute analytical projects, and evaluate results
- Monitor practices, processes, and systems to identify opportunities for improvement
- Proactively communicate and collaborate with stakeholders, various brands units, technical teams and support teams to define concepts and analyze needs and functional requirements
- Translate important questions into concrete analytical tasks
- Gather new data to answer donor and stakeholder questions, collating and organizing data from multiple sources
- Apply analytical techniques and tools to extract and present new insights to clients (both external and internal) using reports and/or interactive dashboards
- Relay complex concepts and data into visualizations
- Collaborate with data scientists and other team members to find the best product solutions
- Build data validation models and tools to ensure data being recorded is accurate
- Work as part of a team to evaluate and analyze key data that will be used to shape future business strategies
Skills, Experience, and Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a related field
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills, including data analysis
- Excellent writing skills and ability to synthesise information and write in a clear and concise manner, with some proven experience of report writing
- Self-motivated, able to work independently and enjoys working autonomously. The ideal candidate will have some of the following knowledge and experience: • Experience of working for a research or consultancy organisation with proven research and analysis skills.
- Knowledge and experience in monitoring and evaluation or impact assessment work, including knowledge of both quantitative and qualitative research methods
- SQL skills are crucial for a successful Impact analyst to access appropriate data.
- Create reports and dashboards using data visualization software packages (eg. Power BI, Tableau).
- Must pass a Vulnerable Sector background check to work with children
- Perform additional duties as assigned
About Us:
Black Boys Code is the largest organization in Canada dedicated to introducing Black youth (aged 8 to 29) to computer science through exposure workshops, Hackathons, after school and summer programs.
