Transforming the Future of Black Youth through Tech Education
In a big move to empower Black youth to skillfully take their place in the leading tech industries of tomorrow, Black Boys Code launches a new chapter in Los Angeles, California.
Los Angeles, CA, December 27, 2024 – Black Boys Code, a leading non-profit organization dedicated to fostering diversity in the tech industry, proudly announces the official launch of its Los Angeles chapter. This expansion comes in response to the growing demand for inclusive tech education opportunities within the local Black community.
Having successfully impacted thousands of young lives in cities across North America, Black Boys Code recognizes the vibrant potential within Los Angeles, with its rich and diverse population, and thriving tech industry. The organization is committed to closing the diversity gap in technology by providing transformative experiences for Black boys, empowering them to become leaders in the digital era.
“Our mission is to show young Black boys that the possibilities in technology are limitless, and they have the talent and capability to lead in this field,” says Bryan Johnson, Founder and CEO of Black Boys Code. “By launching our newest chapter in LA, we aim to inspire, educate, and equip the next generation of Black leaders in technology.”
The inaugural workshop for Black Boys Code Los Angeles is set to take place on January 20, 2024, at the University of Southern California (USC) campus. The Black Boys Code LA Chapter Leader, Phillip Banks, along with inspiring Black male professionals in the technology industry, will share their insights and words of encouragement with the participants.
Community support is crucial for the success of initiatives like Black Boys Code. The Los Angeles chapter is actively seeking volunteers and exploring partnerships with organizations that share the mission of empowering young Black minds through technology education.
