About this workshop
Building on the foundations introduced in September, students will move from learning the basics to creating and exploring more meaningful technology projects.
Beginner students will expand their first webpage into a structured personal website using HTML headings, paragraphs, lists, links, and images. Advanced students will take the next step in their Artificial Intelligence journey by exploring the data behind AI, using real datasets and beginner Python to identify patterns and connect evidence to real-world problems.
Whether returning from September or joining us for the first time, students will have the opportunity to code, explore, build, analyze, and create.
Materials Provided FREE
Black Boys Code will provide all workshop learning materials and structured instruction FREE of charge, including:
- Coding and project activities
- Student workbooks and guided exercises
- HTML and web development resources
- Python and data exploration activities
- AI Idea Journal and project-planning resources
- Instructor support throughout the workshop
No previous coding experience or personal equipment is required.
Come ready to build the web, explore data, solve problems, and turn your ideas into technology!

Beginner students will go beyond their first webpage and learn how the different building blocks of HTML work together to create a complete website.
Using HTML and EduBlocks, students will work with headings, paragraphs, lists, links, and images while building About Me, Interests, and Favourites sections for their personal website.
Students will also learn why opening and closing tags matter, how links and images work, and how to identify and fix common HTML mistakes.
Advanced students will move from understanding what Artificial Intelligence is to exploring one of its most important building blocks: data.
Students will learn how datasets are organized using rows and columns, distinguish between categorical and numeric data, and begin using Python and Google Colab to inspect real datasets.
Through hands-on activities, students will look for patterns, averages, missing information, and other meaningful observations. They will also explore responsible data use by asking important questions about privacy, fairness, bias, and who may be missing from a dataset.
Most importantly, students will connect what they discover in the data to the real-world problem they identified in their AI Idea Journal during September.
